Dr. Smith's Mission Blog

Life is busy.  Especially as a full time working mother, occasionally the hours in the day feel as if they pass as quickly as seconds.  Over the 9 years of my Optometry career I have become significantly aware of the importance of maximizing each moment and opportunity so as to feel accomplished at the end of the day, both when I'm at work and also when I'm home with my daughter.

In my office, I strive to give personalized eye care to each and every patient that sits in my chair.  A proper eye exam should not be cookie cutter, and should not last only 5 minutes.  I challenge myself to ask questions, and more importantly to LISTEN to the answers from my patients.  Optometrists are sometimes the only doctors that patients see, so it's my responsibility to be as thorough as possible.  I want you see amazing through your new glasses and/or contacts.  I also want to screen for every eye disease possible, correct your dry eyes, help students with reading problems, and also evaluate risk of medical problems such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol.

So, my promise is this.  The minutes that you take from your busy day to come to our offices will not be wasted.  You will receive information about your vision and the health of your eyes.  You will have personal stylists helping you to choose the best frames for your glasses.  You will have the opportunity to have an actual conversation with your doctor and ask questions.  And hopefully, you will leave our office feeling like you received the most comprehensive eye care possible.
